What to expect on the day 

  • A prime viewing spot on our Penguin Beach decking during our Penguin Talk. Watch our excited penguins swim around for their dinner 
  • Feed our penguins some tasty fish
  • The opportunity to ask our ZSL experts everything you’ve ever wanted to know about penguins and London Zoo. 

To help us protect our penguins and to prevent the spread of avian influenza, participants will be asked to dip their shoes in a disinfectant when entering our penguin encounter area. Please avoid direct contact with poultry or game birds in the 14 days prior to your experience. If you have contact with poultry or game bird within this time frame, please contact us.

Price and availability 

  • Tickets are available to book two weeks in advance of the experience. We are currently experiencing staffing difficulties and so this experience may not be available on certain dates.
  • Feed the Penguins is at 4:20 pm between February-October and 12 pm from November-January.

Important information to know before you book your Feed the Penguins experience 

  • This experience is wheelchair accessible. 
  • Recommended for ages 3+. 
  • All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old. Adults accompanying children under the age of 14 do not need to purchase a ticket.
  • General admissions tickets are not included and must be purchased separately. 
  • Participants will not be in direct contact with the animals. 
  • Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any allergies. 

BOOK YOUR FEED THE PENGUINS EXPERIENCE

Feed the Gorillas

What to expect on the day 

  • Scatter feed our animals some of their favourite treats. They love corn, sweet potato, and cucumber.
  • Enter our VIP area and see our gorillas up close as our zookeeper feeds them. You’ll have an amazing opportunity to take photos of our incredible gorillas.
  • A dedicated gorilla keeper will be on hand to answer all your questions about gorillas and how we care for them at London Zoo. 

To protect our animals, staff and visitors, we will require all participants on the Feed the Gorillas experience to wear masks and gloves when feeding the animals. Masks, gloves, and hand sanitiser will be provided to wash your hands before and after the experience. Please do not visit the Zoo if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, and contact us to rearrange your experience. 

During the feed, the gorillas will be separated from participants by a four-metre barrier and the food will need to be thrown this distance. Adults may be required to help small children.

  • 11:30 am Wednesday-Monday. 

Important information to know before you book your Feed the Gorillas experience

  • All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old. Adults accompanying a child under the age of 14 must also purchase a Feed the Gorillas ticket due to space limitations.
  • Those with disabilities can be accompanied by an essential carer to support them during their experience. Essential carers can enter the experience area free of charge but do not take part in the experience. Should you require an essential carer please put this information in the participant information form at checkout.
  • General admissions tickets are not included and must be purchased separately.
  • Participants will not be in direct contact with the animals.
  • Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any allergies.
