Penguin Keeper Experience

Join us as an honorary penguin zookeeper. 

For a whole hour, see what goes on behind-the-scenes at London Zoo's Penguin Beach and experience exactly what it's like to look after our curious colony of penguins.

Boots on, we'll get you cleaning, preparing the penguins' food for the day, learning how we conduct basic health-checks, and finish up by giving the penguins a feed!

This is an intimate experience for up to four people only and in a relaxed environment, so that you have plenty of opportunity to ask everything you've ever wanted to know about penguins and life behind-the-scenes at London Zoo.

To help us protect our penguins and to prevent the spread of avian influenza, participants will be asked to change into wellington boots that are provided, before entering the beach. Please avoid direct contact with poultry or game birds in the 14 days prior to your experience. If you have come into contact with poultry or game birds within this time frame, please contact us. 

Prices

• From £150 per person, Zoo admission is sold separately.
• 10% discount for Gold Members, Fellows, and Patrons.  Please log in at the start of your purchase journey to receive your discount.
• Visitors with disabilities can bring an essential carer for support during the animal experience. The carer can enter for free but won’t take part in the experience. To bring a carer, please add an ‘Essential Carer’ ticket during the booking process.
• Only one essential carer is allowed per disabled visitor.
• Customers who have booked an overnight stay at our London Zoo Lodges receive 15% off this experience if booked for either side of their stay.

Know Before You Book

• General admission is not included and must be purchased separately.
• Children must be at least 8 years old to take part. Any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who must also purchase a 'Penguin Keeper experience' ticket.
• You must wear appropriate closed toe footwear.
• We strongly advise covering your legs, such as by wearing trousers or jeans, for the experience.
• Pregnant or nursing mothers cannot participate.
