Thank you to everyone who has kindly submitted art of their favourite animals across the Zoo. We love that the unique personalities of our animals continue to capture people's imagination and get people closer to wildlife.

Some of our favourites

Venus the gorilla

Our penguin colony

Every single one of our Humboldt penguins has their own name and a unique personality. Although each have multi-coloured bands on their wings to help identify them, our penguin Zookeepers can actually tell each penguin apart just by their appearance.

Asiatic lions once ranged from Turkey to Eastern India, but were almost hunted to extinction. Today they cling in a small pocket of habitat in India, and through ZSL we’ve worked with partners to protect their species From working out in the field to contributing to the Zoo conservation breeding programme, we’re creating routes to recovery for these special animals.

You can find more of Nick's paintings and sketches at @Nick.in.motion on Instagram.
