Vets in Action is back at London Zoo during February half term!

We're inviting children to become zoo vets this February half-term at Vets in Action, an award-winning role-playing experience for budding veterinarians.

Kids can step into the role of a vet at ZSL London Zoo - during a fun week of interactive family events celebrating their incredible work.

After arriving for work at the Zoo’s specially-recreated zoo vet centre, junior vets will be prepped with hairnets and masks before helping experts examine, diagnose and carry out treatments on soft toys, experiencing first-hand the huge variety of work carried out by the Zoo’s vets, vet nurses, Wildlife Health team and zookeepers – from microchipping monkeys to caring for a wounded lion.

What time are the Vets in Action sessions?

Sessions run daily between 11 - 19 February, from 10:30am - 12:30pm, and 1:30pm - 4pm. The first hour (from 10:30am - 11:30am is a Gold member priority session). There will also be a Vet Q&A at 2:15pm every day.

Toy health checks will be running from 11:30am - 12:30pm and 3:00pm - 4:00pm (on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays) and 10:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30om - 4:00pm (on Tuesday, Friday and Sundays).

Additional demonstrations and talks throughout the week will take families further inside the exciting world of the Zoo, explaining everything we do to keep just under 15,000 residents in tip-top condition.

A great value day out, Vets in Action and all additional activities are included in the entry price. Zoo tickets must be booked online in advance.

World Pangolin Day

Ahead of World Pangolin Day on 18 February 2023, we're also going to be raising awareness of pangolins as part of our half term activities. Look out for our stand next to our Vets in Action activities to learn all about these scaly mammals, the threats they face in the wild, and how your Zoo visit is helping us to protect them.

Activities are recommended for children aged 3-11 years.
