The Education Access Scheme is part of our pledge to support our local community by giving local schools and colleges increased access to our zoo and its learning opportunities. By working together, we hope to inspire and empower more children and young people to be advocates for nature.
Currently only Camden and Westminster educational establishments are eligible for our Education Access Scheme, which provides an affordable opportunity for our most local schools and colleges to visit the zoo regularly.
For just £500, the equivalent of approximately 60 students visiting in the Summer-term, your establishment can access a range of benefits for the rest of the academic year.
What's included
- Unlimited term-time education tickets for students to visit ZSL London Zoo*
- Discounts on educational workshops and careers activities/courses
- Priority access to other special educational events across the year for teachers and students
- Access to careers opportunities for your students
- Planning and logistical support for zoo visits
- Support for integrating the zoo into your curriculum
- Opportunities for co-creation of bespoke activities, where staff capacity allows**
* Subject to availability based on our daily admissions capacity
**Not guaranteed. May be subject to a fee and/or eligibility criteria

We also offer work experience placements to selected Education Access Scheme schools who meet our criteria, on a first-come, first-served basis. Our aim is to provide experience for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who often lack these kinds or opportunities, as well as for demographics underrepresented in animal care and conservation. If you would like to discuss what might be possible for your young people, please get in touch with our work experience team at [email protected].
As part of our Education Access Scheme network, we will alert you when opportunities for local schools and students pop up. This could be trialling new activities we're developing, meeting ZSL scientists and conservationists who are looking for schools to engage with, youth participation opportunities for older students, or even donating leftover perfume for our lions to enjoy at Christmas!
We email all opportunities to the lead contact for the Education Access Scheme at your school. If you're a class teacher and you'd like to be notified directly when opportunities pop up, please sign up to our EAS mailing list:
This year, we are inviting EAS partners to submit expressions of interest for working with us on bespoke programming and/or partnership activities across the academic year.
