Ever wondered what it's like to work with a Komodo dragon day to day? Now's your chance to step into a keeper’s boots and head behind-the-scenes for a truly unique experience!
Komodo dragons are the biggest lizards in the world and have looked exactly as they do now, for the past 3-4 million years! Arriving before the Zoo opens to the public, join one of our experienced Komodo dragon keepers for an hour as they take you through their morning routine, laying a scent trail and prepare one of only two big meals they have each month, giving you personal insight and the opportunity to ask lots of questions. See how even reptiles have personalities! Zoo admission is included so that you can spend the rest of the day exploring the rest of the Zoo and it's more than 8,000 animals.
Sadly, Komodo dragons have recently become endangered but by booking onto the experience, you will be supporting our work to conserve incredible animals like these all over the world.
Price
- £150 per person - including Zoo admission.
- Visitors with disabilities can bring an essential carer for support during the animal encounter. The carer can enter for free but won’t take part in the experience. To bring a carer, please add an ‘Essential Carer’ ticket during the booking process.
- Only one essential carer is allowed per disabled visitor.
- ZSL Gold Members, Patrons, and Fellows receive a 10% discount on this experience. Please log in at the start of your purchase journey to receive your discount.
- Customers who have booked an overnight stay at our London Zoo Lodges receive 15% off this experience if booked for either side of their stay.
Know Before You Book
- Participants must be at least 11 years of age to take part.
- 1 hour duration.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old, who also has a valid Komodo Dragon Experience ticket.
- You must wear appropriate closed toe footwear to take part in the experience.
- Pregnant or nursing mothers cannot participate.
