There’s so much to see and do this spring at London Zoo.
We’ve put together a few family-favourite activities for the season. And remember, with a ZSL membership, you can enjoy unlimited free entry to London and Whipsnade Zoos the whole year round.
Hit the beach and meet our penguins
Our South American beach landscape is home to our colony of Humboldt penguins. With a capacity of 450,000 litres of water and 1200 square metres, it’s the largest penguin pool in England.
Stop by at feeding time and watch the penguins dive for their food. You can catch all the underwater action from our special viewing areas.

Join our daily talks and learn all about your favourite animals and get to know their distinct personalities. Ask our experts your burning questions and catch up on the latest animal stories.
Go on an Animal Adventure
Our Animal Adventure playpark is a perfect opportunity for your young explorers to learn about the Zoo’s animals as they play. The playpark includes slides, a climbing wall and much more to keep youngsters entertained.
Young adventurers can safely get close to the animals including alpacas, pigs and porcupines. Our expert keepers will be on hand to answer questions and share the inside scoop on the animals’ lives.
You can take a pitstop at Peckish Parrot, our catering kiosk, to keep energy levels up with hot drinks and plenty of snacks to choose from. Don’t forget, Gold members get 10% off in our shops and restaurants.

Family-friendly events
There's a busy programme of events and activities running all year round at London Zoo. From baby sensory sessions to craft sessions and activity trails, they'll help you explore the zoo and discover more about our animals in family-friendly, accessible ways. This spring there will special events at Easter and through May half term - check for all the latest events information or be sure not to miss a thing by signing up to our regular newsletter.
Enjoy the spring blooms and get inspired
As you make your way round the Zoo, you’ll see a wide variety of wildlife-friendly plants, flowers and trees. Our foliage is specially selected and sourced by our horticulture team who make sure it looks beautiful and is beneficial for the wildlife at the Zoo.
Visit our Wildlife Garden and get inspiration for things to include in your garden to help support wildlife, from bees and butterflies to hedgehogs and birds.

Take a trip to Butterfly Paradise
Walk through our tropical haven, Butterfly Paradise, and get up close to our free-flying butterflies. Home to hundreds of butterflies from major regions across the world, you’ll see many different species on your visit.
See butterflies at different stages of the lifecycle. From their early beginnings as pupae in our special pupae holding room, to the fully developed butterflies flying overhead. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about butterfly life cycles, biodiversity and climate change.
