1. See the Zoo in a whole new light - just for adults!

2. Step into a Horrible Science adventure

This summer, London Zoo transforms into a world of weird, wild and wonderful science as Horrible Science arrives. Expect laugh out loud experiences, hands-on discoveries and a trail packed with gruesome, grotty and genius moments. Activities run from 18 July - 2 September and are all included in your Zoo ticket or membership. 

3. Check out Disney's The Lion King Exhibition

Open from 6 June - 31 August, the iconic West End musical has roared into London Zoo with a showcase of masks, puppets and costumes in a fabulous special exhibition. Audiences can step inside the world of The Lion King with a rare chance to see items up close and learn about the craftsmanship and artistry behind the show’s designs.

Included in your London Zoo entry price, this exhibition allows you to immerse yourself in the Disney magic that has captivated audiences worldwide for over two decades.

4. Delve deeper into our history

5. Make a splash

Our Animal Adventure playpark is a perfect opportunity for your young explorers to learn about the Zoo’s animals as they play. And during the summer months, bring a spare set of clothes and jump into our splash zone! (Please note, we may have to close the Splash Zone for maintenance at short notice and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause). 

You can take a pitstop at Peckish Parrot to keep energy levels up with hot and cold drinks and plenty of snacks to choose from. 

6. Laze around with our big cats

There's nothing our big cats love more than a good snooze, especially when the sun is shining. Pop by Land of the Lions and Tiger Territory to spot these fantastic felines lazing in the sun. You might even see our tigers beating the heat in their private pool. 

7. Move through Madagascar

Get closer to the action than ever before with our In with the Lemurs walk-through, taking you on a journey through the Madagascan shrub forest. Renowned sun-worshippers, the lemurs love nothing more than an afternoon spent sunbathing. With this in mind, our dedicated architects carefully mapped the path of sunlight in the lemurs' habitat to ensure their basking platforms are purposefully located to maximise lounging time. 

8. Hit the beach

What better way to spend a sunny day than visiting a beach filled with penguins! Watch the Humboldt penguins sunbathing or porpoising through the water. We've got some fantastic underwater viewing areas, including our penguin bubble. And why not grab a shake or an ice cream sundae from our Penguin Beach Café?

9. Journey through a South American rainforest

We all know that summer in the UK isn't always filled with glorious sunshine. If the weather isn't on your side, escape to warmer climes in Rainforest Life - London's only living rainforest. This walk-through habitat is home to sloths, titi monkeys, and more. 

There are plenty of sheltered spaces and indoor areas if you need them - here's our wet weather guide, just in case.

10. Explore ZSL's Zoo Plaque Trail

From Harry Potter to Harry Styles, Guy the Gorilla to Winnie the bear, and Charles Darwin to Sir David Attenborough. we're celebrating unforgettable people, animals and characters throughout our history. 

As part of ZSL's 200th anniversary celebrations, our Zoo Plaque Trail is open until the end of the year. Dotted throughout the Zoo, you'll find distinctive plaques marking the spots where history was made – from groundbreaking scientific discoveries to moments of pop culture magic. 

11. See super species in action

Sit on the grassy bank on our display lawn and enjoy Super Species Live, where you can get up close and personal with astonishing animals from around the world. We have a varied programme of daily talks throughout the day where you can learn more about our residents and find out how their natural behaviours help them thrive in wild.

12. Swing by the squirrel monkeys

Soak up the sun with a stroll through the squirrel monkey walk-through, which is open to the skies of the capital with no boundaries between you and the troop. Just like us, the primates love an icy treat in the sunshine - you can pick yours up from one of our many shops and catering outlets. Don’t forget, Gold members get 10% off in our shops and restaurants. 

13. Go exploring

After a day out at London Zoo, why not explore the neighbouring areas before heading home? Take a stroll through Regent's Park, home to an open air theatre, large lake and a beautiful rose garden. Enjoy spectacular views from the top of Primrose Hill. Or wander along the canal to Camden Market, home to street food from around the world, and unique gifts.
